dc.description.abstract The theme of this article is Indonesian women who are renowned for offering great support to their husbands. An example is a lady called Naya' Din who, after her husband's death, led the army until the last day of her life. In the past, Indonesian women tended to be strictly tradition-bound. However, successive national movements and revolutions drove them to regard their country as a family, one they should strive to make happy and proud. en_US
