Restrictions to Women’s Access to Public Offices

Abstract

This article is about the issuance of anti-women fatwas excluding female graduates of law schools as public officers. The author asserts that Islam completely rejects such false interpretations of the Holy Quran, maintaining that women would never accept to be excluded from judiciary service.

تتحدث هذه المقالة عن صدور بعض الفتاوى الرسمية تستبعد خريجات كليات الحقوق من مناصب النيابة والقضاء، استنادًا إلى الدين وتفسير نصوصه. وتقول الكاتبة إن الدين برئ من هذا التفسير، وإن المرأة لن تقبل أبدًا بأن تُحرم من وجودها في مجالس القضاء.
