Coming-of-age and parallel worlds in Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials
Rabie, Reham
Abstract:
In the thesis I am arguing how Philip Pullman incorpates the theme of "coming-of-age" in His Dark Materials with the two charaters Lyra and Will. In additon I argue how the parallel worlds in His Dark Materials help the children achieve their coming-of-age process. Finally I argue how Pullman incorpates William Blake's theme of innocence to experience and John Milton's theme of parallel wolrds in Paradise Lost.
