dc.description Newsletter of the Middle East Studies Center at the American University in Cairo (now called MESC). en
dc.description.abstract The number of our graduate students has doubled to 25 in the spring semester, from 12 in the fall, a bumper crop indeed. What caused this sudden leap in numbers? A spring bloom, from the heavy rains that fell over Cairo, flooded the streets and wreaked havoc on the increasingly delicate metro system? A reputation the program has been building up? The intifada? Staying in touch with our applicants? Supplying them with Barqiyya?! We will, for obvious reasons, try to find out more about this phenomenon. en
