The project is to design and implement the hardware design for a 1-pixel LIDAR system using continuous monochromatic laser wave with frequency modulated intensity which main benefit is to measure the distance to a certain object. This project is a cornerstone to future improvements that can use this hardware implementation to build a 3-D spectroscopy image and then record a 3D video using LIDAR technology. Thesis I involved doing a comprehensive research of the LIDAR technology, creating the system design, and selecting the models for the desired components. Thesis II involved building the actual system as hardware, and reporting the results.
