Description:
In October of 2009, three AUC librarians traveled to the United Arab Emirates to attend a workshop at the American University of Sharjah. They learned to conduct ethnographic research, using multiple methods, in order to learn how AUC students conduct research and use library and campus spaces. Upon returning to Cairo, they began two pilot studies. The first involved students taking photographs of their preferred spaces and tools for academic work. The second asked students to map their movements across campus during a typical weekday. This collection includes photographs, audio of recorded interviews, and transcripts from the photograph study.
